Hey, it’s JB!

A few months ago a new art gallery and bakery opened up just around the corner from the BridgeDetroit office (Chroma), so I went to check it out.

In March, two Detroit artists opened Someday just next door to Vault of Midnight on Grand Blvd. They’re doing a little bit of everything, from chess nights to supper clubs to art exhibitions. A core feature of the space is the baked goods menu: the owners bake everything themselves, curating the treats to the concurrent exhibit themes.

The commission the gallery takes from artists is on the lower side (35%) in an effort to equitably pay artists, but the food prices are high. Take for instance, $13 for a small cinnamon roll.
