Hey, it’s JB!

On Wednesday Detroit’s House of Pure Vin said its last day would be Dec. 27 after nine years in business.

“House of Pure Vin has been more than just a wine shop—it’s been a space for connection, culture, and celebration. Together, we’ve created so many unforgettable memories, and none of it would have been possible without your love and support,” the post read.

Owner Regina Gaines declined to comment on why the shop was closing, but a spokesperson said the decision was “incredibly difficult.”

You can stop by the shop, located at 1433 Woodward Ave., Wednesdays through Thursdays 3:00-8:00 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays noon to 11:00 p.m. and Sundays noon to 5:00 p.m. before it permanently closes Dec. 27 with a farewell event.

Also on Wednesday, a new wine bar opened in Core City. Vesper Books & Wine offers wine, tinned fish, meat and cheese plates, nonalcoholic wine and cookbooks.

The shop, located at 5001 Grand River Ave., is open noon to 9 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays, noon to 10 p.m. Thursdays, and noon to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
