Hey, it’s JB!

There are new networking opportunities in Detroit for people of color working in environment-related fields.

Black to the Land Coalition launched Black & Brown in Green last summer to connect people of color working in “green” fields, including: Fishing, hunting, environmental education, land management, agriculture, environmental justice, herbalism, recycling, sustainable development, environmental law, and more!

It comes together as the nation grapples with a historically painful lack of diversity across the private sector of the environmental field, and a full-force attack from the Trump administration on diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI programs.

The group has convened three gatherings so far, including an event this month which drew a crowd of more than 100 people. The next is planned for spring.
