On the next American Black Journal, we’ll continue our yearlong series on The Black Church in Detroit with a look at Millennials and the Black Church. A study by the Pew Research Center found young African American adults are less religious and less engaged in predominantly Black churches than older generations.

Stephen Henderson has an intergenerational conversation with Third New Hope Baptist Church Pastor Emeritus, Dr. E.L. Branch, and his successor, Pastor QuanTez Pressley. Dr. Branch spent 42 years leading the church, and Pastor Pressley is a millennial and longtime protege pf Dr. Branch.
