It’s an important day here at BridgeDetroit! Today kicks off our spring membership campaign, which helps fund our community-rooted newsroom all year long. Trustworthy, community-focused news like ours inspires growth, fosters relationships, and helps to ensure that everyone is informed about their city — which is essential to a healthy democracy.
When you donate to BridgeDetroit, you make it possible for us to continue providing quality, high-impact journalism for Detroiters who may be overlooked or ignored otherwise. You also help us fund events with residents so we can help keep them informed of what is going on in their community and get feedback on what we should be covering.
Here are just a few examples of what we have planned for the remainder of 2024 that you could help make possible:
- In-depth coverage of the city’s reparations task force and its work
- A new weekly City Hall-focused podcast, called “Public Comment,” co-hosted by BridgeDetroit’s Malachi Barret and Detroit is Different’s Khary Frazier
- A summer town hall series, hearing from Detroiters across the city about the issues most important to you and your community
- A faith-based partnership with congregations of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths to share BridgeDetroit stories with their congregants via their newsletters and meet in-person to gather feedback and story priorities
We’re committed to providing this critical public service, but we need your support to keep going strong. As part of our spring campaign, we’ve set a goal to raise $7,000 by May 17.
Will you help us get there?
Yes, I want to support BridgeDetroit!
When you support our Detroit-focused newsroom, you enable all of us to be better informed, connected, and empowered during this important year. From all of us in the newsroom, we thank you!
