Joan Belgrave talks about her late husband’s many musical collaborations with jazz legends and Motown greats. She reflects on why it meant so much to her to produce the documentary, which is titled “…And Damn He Could Play: The Marcus Belgrave Story.” Jones explains the origin of the film’s title, and he recalls how he came to learn about Marcus Belgrave’s music, mentorship, and influence on generations of musicians.

The film premieres in New York on November 13-14 at the country’s largest documentary festival, DOC NYC.
