Hey, it’s JB!
It’s with sadness that I write to you that JB’s Bites is going on a hiatus as I embark on a new work opportunity.
I have been awarded an investigative reporting fellowship with ProPublica as a part of their nationwide initiative to partner with local newsrooms. I’m definitely not going anywhere – I will stay at BridgeDetroit as a reporter and keep living in Detroit, but will work exclusively on this investigative project for the year.
My reporting will focus on environmental pollution and health in Detroit, the other topics I am so passionate about.
Some of you might be wondering: “HOW WILL WE EAT?” Reader, I don’t know.
Just kidding. But each week I’ve asked you to read and engage — and you have. I don’t take that lightly. I hope to return soon with more stories about our local food system.
Until then: may we eat well, be well, and meet again soon over food.
Dig In,
JB
