Hey, it’s JB!

Now more than ever, there are late-night food options in the area during Ramadan.

Last year, my colleague Nushrat Rahman and I wrote about the increasing number of options during the holy month when Muslims refrain from eating and drinking between sunrise to sunset, pray at the mosque and give to charity. Read the story here.

Here are some new spots to visit this year:

In January, a new brunch spot and nonalcoholic bar Karam Brunch House opened in Dearborn and will be open from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. for Ramadan.

Every weekend of Ramadan, The Canteen at Midtown in Dearborn is hosting Ramadan Village, formerly known as the Ramadan Suhoor Festival. Featuring 55 vendors, the food festival is open from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Warda Patisserie is open late on Fridays throughout March from 8-11 p.m. for limited-edition pastries, espresso drinks, tea, and live musical performances.

To accommodate students who observe the fast and do not participate in the regular lunch period, Dearborn Public Schools is offering Iftar meals to-go that can be consumed after sunset.

Axios Detroit has a profile on the 35-year-old Masri Sweets bakery in Dearborn.

Mezcal Express has various family combo meals using halal meat sourced from Saad Wholesale Meats and will be open until 1 a.m. for Ramadan.
