Detroit is a city of innovators. Every day, our neighbors, artists, and community leaders create solutions that bring people together and strengthen our neighborhoods.

At BridgeDetroit, we believe these stories deserve to be told. That is why we created Resilience in the D, a series that highlights how Detroiters roll up their sleeves and work together to make things better where they live. We also launched Culture Canvas, which shines a spotlight on the artists, writers, and cultural leaders whose creativity connects and inspires our communities. Together, these series celebrate both the problem-solvers and the storytellers who shape Detroit’s future. When we asked readers to nominate people who deserved to be recognized, you responded with more than 30 names of neighbors making a difference. These are stories of people who see problems and say, “Let’s fix this together.”

Today, we are launching our fall campaign to fund more reporting like Resilience in the D and Culture Canvas.

Our goal: Raise $3,000 by September 26th to support community-centered journalism that puts Detroiters in charge of telling their own stories. Your gift allows us to spend time directly with residents, listening to the stories they want to share and lifting up the leaders they want to celebrate.

This type of reporting happens because we prioritize authentic community engagement over surface-level coverage. Your support makes it possible for us to build relationships, listen deeply, and amplify the voices of Detroit’s visionaries and everyday heroes.

Please consider making a gift today to support community-driven journalism that celebrates Detroit’s innovative spirit. Together, we can continue to highlight the brilliant ways Detroiters collaborate and create solutions that strengthen our city.
