As the World Cup tournament officially kicks off Thursday, June 11, the city of Detroit and its businesses are gearing up to host watch parties to celebrate and watch the Olympic Tournament games. It’s the first time since 1994 that the U.S has been selected as a co-host country for the series.
The Detroit City Football Club (DCFC) is looking to host a variety of watch parties this summer, streaming both the USA (D) and Mexico (A) group stage matches at various locations throughout Detroit.
“Although Detroit isn’t a host city, but with us having a large football fanbase, we wanted to bring the energy here by hosting watch parties,” says Abi Varghese, Director of Partnership Development for DCFC.
Live viewing of Team USA’s June 12th and June 19th FIFA World Cup 2026 Matches will be held at Campus Martius Park, 800 Woodward Ave.
Live viewing of USA’S June 25th match will be held at the Detroit Fieldhouse, 3401 E Lafayette St. on Detroit’s east side.
“With our new stadium moving to the Southwest of Detroit we wanted to highlight the Mexico team as well by streaming their games live” Varghese said.
Team Mexico viewing parties will be held at Los Galanes Lot, 3362 Bagley Street in Southwest Detroit. The games will be June 11 at 2 p.m.; June 18 at 8 p.m.; and June 24 at 8 p.m.
Every event has free entry with ticket registration and kids are welcome. Get more information and register here.
