Host Stephen Henderson sits down with Neil Barclay, President & CEO of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, to talk about this year’s Juneteenth celebration at the museum. Barclay describes some of the activities taking place on June 19th. He also discusses the history of Juneteenth and how the commemoration has evolved since the federal holiday was established in 2021. Additionally, Barclay speaks to the current state of the museum, and he notes some of the future programming.
We’ll also look at some of the other Juneteenth-themed events taking place in Metro Detroit this month.
