On the next American Black Journal, a new museum exhibition and a Detroit Barbershop Challenge are working together to change the narrative surrounding Black men.

The Charles H. Wright Museum is hosting the Smithsonian traveling exhibit, “Men of Change: Power. Triumph. Truth.”  The display of photos and stories feature Black men who have transformed the country and culture. In conjunction, Ford Motor Company Fund’s Men of Courage initiative has launched a local barbershop challenge designed to promote positive conversations about Black men in the community.

Plus, we’ll take you to a display of powerful works by emerging artists at a Detroit gallery. And, we’ll remember Michigan’s first Black Congresswoman, Barbara-Rose Collins.
