I worked as management at Ford Field years ago, before there was a union but was there when we voted for a union to represent and fight for worker’s rights. My hope is that the standards board works with the union and supports workers. Having worked in and out of union shops, I know that workers must be selective with leadership representing them and a board with a union adds more complexity, particularly when it is unclear how they are involved with selecting standards board members (article references mayor and city council). I would like more clarity on the selection of standards board members.
