BridgeDetroit’s Community Advisory Committee includes a variety of professionals from all across the city, working in concert with our staff to determine community priorities, reporting and engagement ideas and strategic direction. It is not a formal board, but rather a collaboration of invested individuals who work to promote, guide and serve the mission of BridgeDetroit.
The CAC’s purpose is to:
- Bring together trusted representatives and voices from the community to engage in a continuous dialogue and feedback process on BridgeDetroit’s performance and strategy while helping develop new initiatives and story ideas.
- Send members back to their communities to share BridgeDetroit work and represent the newsroom in their social circles, while also collecting feedback for BridgeDetroit.
- Identify coverage areas that are missing from BridgeDetroit’s strategy and provide links to individuals to help with this coverage.
- Create a process of more transparency around BridgeDetroit’s work.
