The Detroit Election Commission will meet Friday to review eligibility challenges and confirm the slate of 2025 city candidates.
Challenges against several candidates for various offices, including against City Clerk Janice Winfrey, were unsuccessful. Winfrey is running unopposed for another term as clerk.
The commission is headed by Winfrey, Sheffield, and Mallett as required by the City Charter. It’s responsible for general supervision of elections.
The following candidates are certified for the Aug. 5 primary ballot, according to a May 2 list provided by the Detroit Department of Elections:
